The Ambassador Group recognizes the importance of community and believes in being a good neighbor. We have a long history of supporting community projects and activities in the Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario communities, which border the Ambassador Bridge. Our efforts include scholarship programs, in-kind services, summer programs, material donations, clean-up activities, educational facilities, and sports and holiday activities. We do this kind of work because we believe in supporting the communities that host our bridges. A sample of many of our community-based projects in the Detroit - Windsor Region is available online (12 MB).
As we move forward with our efforts to build the Ambassador Niagara Signature Bridge, our staff seeks to connect with the Southern Niagara Peninsula - WNY community through public outreach and public involvement activities. We have found in our time here so far a number of opportunities to become involved with the community. Although public outreach is integral to educating the public on the ANSBP, we also recognize that this region is much more than just a project location. It is a community with diverse interests and needs. Since the project's inception, we have been dedicated to becoming a member of this community. Ambassador Niagara is committed to developing an international crossing that is sensitive and
responsive to the needs and goals of the Southern Niagara Peninsula and WNY Region.
Since 1999, when we first
established an office in Western New York, we have regularly met and received input from stakeholder groups,
elected officials, agency regulators, journalists,
and most importantly, members of the community.
In order to understand better regional and local concerns and visions of the future, we are reviewing federal, provincial/state, and local plans created by the Province of Ontario; the Regional Municipality of Niagara; the Town of Fort Erie; the State of New York; the County of Erie; the City of Buffalo and the Riverside Community.
We know that cleaning up brownfields, improving waterfront access and recreational opportunities, and providing engines for economic growth are all important goals. We believe this project helps achieve those goals, and we will continue to interact and work with the community to make them a reality.
If you’d like to hear from us or meet us, please contact us and send us a note. We’ll be happy to meet with your group and present our project and talk about the future!
